Previous Pastor Warren Jensen

It was very difficult to say goodbye to Rev. Jensen at his final service on Sunday, June 15th; however, we wish him the best in a new phase of his life in Iowa City, IA. We express our gratitude for the four year’s of excellent pastor leadership he provided to our church.

Interim Pastor

Warren E. Jensen served as our Interim Pastor. Rev. Jensen has been with us since May of 2010 and brings pastoral experience of some 40 years. A life-long member of the Congregational / UCC tradition, he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s of Divinity Degrees from Andover Newton Theological School in Boston. After serving a parish in Ware, Massachusetts for 7 years he moved to Des Moines, Iowa where he was on the staff of Plymouth Church for 10 years. He then completed his Dr. of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling and Psychotherapy at Garrett Evangelical Seminary in Chicago and then administered an Employee Assistance Program for 7 years while in private industry. He has been entrepreneurial in starting two business’s along the way; one in organic lawn care, and the other in retirement planning. Not learning well from his own teachings about retirement he has “un-retired” several times to continue in interim ministry. Rev. Jensen is committed to advancing progressive theological thought and passionate about the future growth and ministry of The United Church of Norman – UCC, where all are welcome, and all are included.”
